Lanzini out for 6 weeks
C&H

Manuel Lanzini will be out though injury for up to six weeks as originally feared.

Lanzini had his scan as planned yesterday and the medical results confirmed what we had all been dreading. Claret and Hugh's most senior source confirmed the news was grim and the player would be out for "six weeks".

The Argentinian had just returned from a thigh injury in fine form, hitting the post before being forced off late in the first half of last weekend's 2-0 win over Liverpool.

West Ham Chairman David Gold confirmed on twitter that the player would undergo further tests to determine the extent of the problem, but said the 22-year-old could be out of action for up to six weeks.

Gold told his followers: "We will know more about Manuel's injury after the scan on Monday but it could be 4/6 weeks. He was superb today."

In his post-match press conference, the Hammers manager Slaven Bilic was a little more optimistic and said he hopes the playmaker will not be absent for a further extended spell.

"They have told me a little bit and I will hear more tomorrow. It is not big. It is the same, it is not the hamstring or the muscle, it is some kind of abductor and the tendon. I hope it is going to be like they have said now, just a little bit"

It does seem a long time, but I reckon he'll be back in around 4. Btw, I haven't seen this from the club anywhere?

Why is it always 6 weeks with our injured players? Vardy is having minor surgery and is due to miss only 2 weeks.

Re: Lanzini out for 6 weeks
It's a big blow (again!) but to have only 2 players out injured now is a positive.

I follow things as best I can (be bothered to).

I don't go on the OS very often in all honesty, so if there's something on there, I've likely missed it.

Of course, I do have quite a few other things going on.

No real shock you believe a site that has a best guess over the actual people that look after them and report on the OS

Still no real shock you don't follow what's going on.

I'd have said Lanzini was "almost-ready" too, in hindsight.

Both were training and almost ready for the weekend but were held back.
It was only Liverpool after all

Lovren off with a hamstring now to join Coutinho. Gutted Klopp?
